CYSTITIS AND UTI’S
A new article full of medical drivel has popped up lately concerning chronic cystitis. It has even appeared on Internet medical help sites, right under a Vioxx ad. It discusses how gynecologists~ repeatedly treating a urinary tract infection (UTI) with antibiotics–may have missed the real diagnosis, chronic interstitial cystitis (IC).
The article discusses how women are diagnosed improperly “for years, [going] from one doctor to another, believing they had a chronic UTI or simply trying to find out what was wrong." It then describes the symptoms of cystitis and discusses how women get caught up in a landslide of ineffective treatments, from muscle relaxers to painkillers to tranquilizers. All of this for nil, without really knowing what is wrong. |
And now the drivel. The article intimates that women need not worry~the problem all along has been wrong diagnoses. Once you get the right diagnosis of cystitis, somehow magically everything is going to be OK. That is a far stretch since they state that no medical person knows what causes cystitis or what puts women at increased risk.
But the medical "good news" is that once the condition is diagnosed, there are treatments that can help. Since medicine has no idea what causes cystitis, all treatments are aimed at controlling symptoms-like anti-inflammatory drugs (which destroy your stomach) and antihistamines (which dry you up like sand). If these don't help, not to worry, there are more potent medications like anticholinergics that work directly on the nerves. And of course, if the drugs don't help, there are always surgical procedures.
One of the new, disastrous medical band-aid adventures into the bladder to treat IC includes infusing a tuberculosis vaccine into the bladder in an effort to stimulate new cell growth. Just the process can cause severe pain. And physicians don't think twice about using powerful narcotics, or injecting heparin or the solvent DMSO directly Into the bladder.
Another new medical treatment is a drug called RTX that actually deadens the nerves in the bladder. They are also considering Botox (botulinum toxin) to paralyze some of the bladder nerves. Killing bladder nerves to treat IC shocks even me-and medicine's forays into the body to cover up symptoms usually don't even turn my head.
The word from the trusted medical authorities is that you should check your diagnosis, stop ineffective treatments if you suffer from cystitis, start other ineffective drug treatments and move to powerful drugs with lots of side effects that are also ineffective. And naturally, there is always surgery. How do you get started? Go to a uro-gynecologist–a person who specializes in the treatment of cystitis~a condition that an entire profession admits no knowledge of cause, susceptibility, or cure. Thank goodness we have these expert, scientific, medical, authoritative information centers all women can rely upon.

The Cause of Cystitis, Chronic Cystitis, and Interstitial Cystitis.
The cause of these conditions is a weakened set of cells that line the urinary tract. The weakness is caused by nutritional deficiency and made worse by drugs, both prescription and over-the-counter. That’s it. Without an understanding of this fact, and with increasing use of drugs, it is easy to see the folly of medical intervention-even by uro-gynecologists. If ever there were a condition that described the state of standard medical care, it is chronic cystitis. While getting completely caught up in "science" we throw more and more powerful drugs at women. In the end, when it comes to cystitis, remember my saying about doctors and drugs. "A drug is something about which doctors know little, given for a disease about which they know even less, into the body about which they know nothing-" |
So no more drivel. Here's what to do. First of all, we now know that the cause of cystitis is not a bug (like E. Coli). If it were, antibiotics would clear it quickly. When bacteria are present and antibiotics alone are used, a portion of the bugs become immune and "burrow deeply" into the tissues of the urinary tract~actually creating the condition of interstitial (deep in the tissues) cystitis. This is why for some women one single UTI result in chronic cystitis for years or for life.. In case you did not get that, the medical treatment can be the cause of a lifetime of misery .
Rather you must treat the underlying cause of the problem by bolstering the strength of the columnar cells that line the urinary tract. These are unique cells indeed, actually allowing for bacterial or microbe attack. Under attack these cells will actually die by the millions, sloughing off and carrying away the infection with them. This process is interfered with when antibiotics are used, allowing the bacteria to mutate or burrow deep in the tissues, as can be seen in a microscope. Once past the barrier columnar cells lining the tract, the problem becomes more difficult to treat and cure.
Nonetheless, the treatment remains the same. Given the correct pH of the urine and improved diet with the correct supplements, women can actually cure themselves of chronic and interstitial cystitis-what a concept! And when it comes to urinary pH, medicine manages to even muddle that up-with the trainloads of antacids ingested dally by women.
