YOUR DIABETES DRUGS CAN KILL YOU AND NO ONE WILL KNOW
From Health Alert Dr Bruce West MD
" If you are taking diabetes drugs, beware of the two have been proven to be dangerous, and also understand that other diabetes drugs are under investigation for life–threatening side effects. Simply get off the drugs bandwagon." Health Alert, Vol. 21, issue 1
Vincent came to me as a pretty healthy guy. He had reached 80 years of age and was doing pretty well. But he could not quite gel himself to stop eating sweets and start exercising. And why bother? His drugs for type 2 diabetes did a great job of keeping his blood sugar down. The problem was that Vincent kept getting "spells." A cold chill would come over him and he would simply black out. He had already split open his head, sprained his ankle, and broken two fingers from going down on hard surfaces during his spells. And the spells were becoming more frequent. |
The point here is that his well-meaning doctor caused him great injury. The odds seemed good that he could have been killed during one of his blackouts and no one would have ever known why. But luckily for Vincent, he was not killed. It is now known that, just possibly, deaths caused by diabetes drugs are the greatest medical scandal of all time. . |
Deaf Ears
My warnings that his diabetes drugs could be causing the spells fell on deaf ears because his prescribing physician told him that I was nuts, that is, until he went down hard and broke off his two front teeth. This caused all kinds of complications and Vincent was never quite the same after this fall. So he decided to follow my advice. He started the Protein Power diet (Eades & Eades) with no wheat and started lifting weights using the Slow Burn Fitness Revolution (Hahn, Eades, & Eades), and began taking the supplements. In two weeks he reduced his dosage of diabetes medicine. In one month he reduced it further. In 60 days he was off the drug altogether. And "shockingly" his spells disappeared after the first two weeks. |
A Frightening Look at the Numbers
Sulfonylureas are some of the most widely prescribed type 2 diabetes drugs-with millions prescribed for decades. There are ten brand name sulfonylureas drugs, so ask your doctor if you are on one of these drugs. The reason is simple. They are responsible for a massive increase in death rate–29 per 1,000 patients per year.*
The latest figures for sulfonylureas drugs show about 32.6 million prescriptions written for about 2.72 million patients annually. A large percentage of these folks also have heart problems and are prescribed powerful heart drugs. This of course compounds the potential dangers
Based on these hard statistics, the actual number of extra deaths each year would be somewhere in the range of 80,000 people! How did I get this number? I multiplied the number of people prescribed sulfonylureas by the increased death rate, or 2.72 million x 29/1000. This equals close to 80,000 deaths per year. That's more people than were in the Super Bowl stadium. Now that's a scandal.

Medical Dogma Why isn't this well known, or better yet, shouted from the rooftops? For many issues in medicine, dogma reigns supreme. Even though these statistics have been known since the 1970’s, the medical high priests have pronounced that these drugs are good, and so they are. For some folks who refuse to take responsibility for their own health, perhaps rolling the dice with these drugs is their only option. |
I can guarantee that Vincent, a relatively healthy guy, would have wanted his doctor to tell him the truth. But for the absolute humiliation of it all, we could all know the truth. However, that isn't about to happen any time soon. So take heed with any and all prescriptions. An essential drug can be a godsend but more and more, powerful and plentiful prescription drugs have helped push medical care into the unenviable position of being the number one killer in this country today.
You have a choice as for type 2 diabetes? Simply end it by getting on the Protein Power diet, exercising with weights, eliminating all wheat from your diet, and taking supplements for three to eight months. Oh yes, and instruct your doctor to take you off sulfonylureas today and to slowly wean you off all type 2 diabetes drugs as your blood sugar normalizes.
Vincent's doctor still thinks that I am nuts. He also still thinks that type 2 diabetes is a medically incurable condition. In fact it is really only a symptom. And your goal should be to end it now before you are killed by your treatment. If you have type 2 diabetes, be sure to read "DDD: The Deadly Diabetes Duo," Health Alert Vol. 23, No. 3.
