USING A HOT COMPRESS
Swedish Bitters
Use the oil provided liberally on the skin area to be covered. Dilute Swedish Bitters l tbs/1 c Swedish bitters / distilled water Soak a cotton or wool cloth in mixture, wring out. Place damp cloth on oiled skin. Cover with clean plastic. (unprinted) Cover with bath towel folded 3 times. Place heat source over area. ( Hot water bottle, heated rice bag, or heating pad on low) Cover with more towels to keep the low temperature heat. Penetrating the effected area. |
Use for a minimum of 4 hours at a sitting per area required for healing. ( go to bed with it if you can)
The idea is to keep a low constant temperature on the area to facilitate the herbs and oils to slowly penetrate the effected tissues.
If a little heat is good, Hot is not better!!! It can/will cause swelling and/or more pain. In other words; Slow, low cooking verses microwave!
