CAFFEINE
Found predominantly in coffee, tea and chocolate, caffeine is in and of itself not a bad thing for us, nor does it need to be eliminated from our diets. Once again, these are natural products found in foods that the Almighty has created for us to consume. It falls , once again to moderation. Overindulgence of anything- including eating (gluttony) is considered sin. If it has any control over you and your need for its consumption, then it is something you need to overcome; either by abstinence or if possible, in reduction of quantity consumed. That is indeed the real bottom line concerning anything we eat or even do. Are we in charge, or is 'it' in charge? * Acts temporarily as a stimulant to the central nervous system. * Produces energy initially but creates a sharp drop as it wears off * The average cup of coffee has 80 mg of caffeine in it. Three cups tightly together, creates the "fight or flight" response in your body which puts all your major body systems on alert. * Irritates the stomach. |
