a Billion Dollar
Business

ARTHRITIS A $115,000,000,000 BUSINESS

For  an  amazing  statistic,  consider  that  40 million  Americans  spend  almost  one and a half percent of the gross domestic product on  of the gross  domestic product on  arthritis treatment–-that’s 115 billion dollars. Ninety-nine percent of this  money  is  spent  on  drugs  and  surgery-both  poor options for this  condition,  since arthritis  is  mostly  caused  by  malnutrition  with some caused by malnutrition and joint infections.

The other night I was at a party attended mostly  by  millionaires.  The  food  was  rich  and processed.  And  the  wine  and  booze  were  flowing freely.  In the midst of this  consumption,  I met a woman who was  equally rich, but eating  only  raw food.  Upon  questioning,  she told  me that besides other problems, just six months previously she was crippled with arthritis. And this at age 50!

She heard that a raw  diet might help her problems,  and  after-six  months  she  was  radiantly healthy and limber.  Given the company she travels with and there level of consumption. I was quick to admire  her fortitude to stick with a very tough program.  It became  immediately  apparent that if this woman  could do it,  anyone could.

In truth, if arthritis is caught prior to permanent joint damage,  neither arthritis  drugs  nor surgery  is needed.  Switching  from  offending  foods  to  the right  healing  foods  and  supplements  to  rebuild joints  will  resolve  most  cases  in  a  year  or  less. Even  with  rheumatoid  arthritis,  this  protocol  will usually  eliminate  the joint  infectious  and resolve the  problem.  With  the  most  stubborn  of  these cases, there may be a need for a year of very-low dose  prescription  antibiotics  (Minocycline,  also called  Minocin)  along  with  the  protocol.

Diet of Inflammation

Using  our recommended nutritional  approaches,  you  could  end  your  arthritis  suffering  for nickels and dimes compared to what we are spending  now.  So just  what  do  you  need  to  do?  For starters,  you  must  put  an  end  to  the  relentless American diet  of inflammation. This  is  a steady diet  or foods  and  non-foods  that trigger inflammation and pain in the body. They do this in  many ways,  including  altering  chemicals  called prostaglandins.  Anti-inflammatory foods  induce healing prostaglandins,  and inflammatory foods induce inflammatory prostaglandins.

Under certain  conditions  inflammation  plays an important role in healing. If you are injured, the inflammation  will  induce  healing.  But when  80% to  90%  of your diet  is  weighted  to  induce  inflammation  and  pain  without  injury,  this  spells  disaster-or the humiliating statistic of 30 to 40 million  Americans  taking  anti-inflammatory  drugs every single day.

From Balanced to Imbalanced

Prior  to  the  processing  of  our  entire  food supply,  our diets  were balanced. We ate healthful,restorative  foods  like raw fruits  and  vegetables, fresh  meat  and  fish,  seeds  and  nuts,  raw  dairy, eggs,  and  healthful  oils  like  first-pressed  virgin olive  oil,  cod  liver  oil,  coconut  oil,  and  flax  oil. These  outweighed  the  small  amounts  of inflammatory  foods  like  wheat,  grains,  processed  oils, fried foods, alcohol, and sugar.

Today that balance is reversed with 90% of our foods  inducing  a state  of chronic  inflammation  or pain. When once we ate oils with plenty of omega~ 3  fat content,  today  we  eat mostly  and  even  only inflammatory,  processed oils  loaded with omega-6 fats.  A proper ratio  of omega-3  to  omega-6  would be  one  to  four,  or even  one to  ten,  but today  it is around  one  to  50,  70,  or  even  one  to  100!  This spells disaster for arthritics. The way to end this is to  toss  all  processed  vegetable  oils  and  salad dressings,  and  instead  use only  the  healthful  oils that are listed in this article.

Prior to  processing  our food,  we ate plenty  of protein,  good fats,  and carbohydrates in proper balance. Today we consume mostly carbohydrates much  of  it  in  the  form  of  wheat,  grains,  and processed,  inflammatory  foods.  We think by loading  up  on  synthetic  chemicals  that  supplement makers  call  vitamins,  we  can  offset this  insult  to our  body  and joints,  but  these  can  often  make things even worse.

In  the  end,  there  is just no  option.  You  must stop  the  bad  stuff and  start the good  stuff.  Ironically,  it  is  not  all  that  tough.  Simply  give  up  anything in a package. Eat exactly what is listed in this article,  and consume at least one quarter of it raw. Supplement this  massive dietary  change  with  the right  nutrients  that  rebuild  and  nourish  healthy joints.  As  you  get better,  get off drugs-they  are extremely  toxic  to  your body.  Start exercising  as soon as you are able. After a year or so you will be a new person-effectively  reducing your chronological  age  by  20  years!  And  to  get  even  better results  when  you  start  exercising,  use  the  Slow Burn  Fitness Revolution  exercise  plan.  Buy  this book by  Hahn,  Hahn,  and Eades  at bookstores  or on-line.

How to Feed Your Joints                                                                                                                         

If you  did nothing  else but  eliminate  the bad stuff and eat the good stuff,  you  would get better. Not everyone's  diet should  be  exactly  the  same. Some people cannot tolerate dairy.  Others suffer if they  eat  nightshade vegetables  like  potatoes, tomatoes,  eggplants,  and  bell  peppers.  But  the basics  will  stay  the  same.  you  can  individualize   your diet  by adapting  a Mediterranean-type  diet  with  a  Blood  Type  or Metabolic  Type  overlay.  If you  are  overweight  or diabetic,  you  would  do  best  with  a Low  Carbohydrate version of this diet. Once  you  start  this  diet,  you  will  do  best  by actually feeding your joints.  Part of this feeding is in the form of minerals, protein, and raw bone. As I've said so  many times  before,  dogs  are routinely cured of crippling arthritis  in six weeks.  It is done by eliminating cooked dog food and feeding them nothing  but  raw  meaty  bones  and  vegetables. Besides  eliminating  arthritis,  almost  all  other forms  of disease dogs  suffer from  also  improve or are  eliminated  with  this  diet.  There  is  a powerful lesson here. And raw bone is part of it.

Today there are hundreds of joint supplements. Most are trash. Some are helpful. All  are served up with  a  huge  helping  of  hype.  And  all  are  overpriced.  The best products  for joints  must be made from raw food,  bones,  and organic  minerals.  They must be grown  and  processed properly.  And that means processing raw bones with the marrow into supplements  that  are  edible  for  people.  This  is  a tough job~and I  know of only  oln company  that has  the  patented  processes  in  place  to  do  this; Standard Process.

So  if you  are  an  arthritis  sufferer,  you  must start with the right supplements. This is  also true if you  also  have  osteoporosis.  When  you  make  these  necessary  lifestyle changes-including  nutrition,  exercise,  and  eventual  prescription  drug-weaning-you  are  on  the way  to  virtually  becoming  a  new  person.  The rewards are so great that the money saved becomes secondary. The alternative of drugs and surgery are not pretty.
