ANTACIDS Wreak Havoc on the Body
Health Alert Dr Bruce West Vol 20 issue 6
Popped like candy, antacids are highly dangerous because they have a systemic effect (they affect every cell in the body). When it comes to cystitis, this is critical. Antacids interfere with excretion of acids and bicarbonates, causing the urine to become more alkaline. An alkaline urine is the breeding ground for bacteria. That is why cranberry juice helps some women–it actually offsets some of the damage caused by antacids by helping the urine become more acid.
Who are the women taking the most Turns, Rolaids, Prevacid, Nexium, etc., etc? The very same ones with the most cases of cystitis–older women. If this is you, the first step to curing chronic cystitis is to normalize digestion and toss your antacids. This is almost always possible, and for many it simply requires a diet that follows proper food combining and the elimination of wheat. |
Once you have gotten the antacids out of your system, it is a matter of rebuilding the protective urinary tract cells. This requires real, whole vitamins A, C, and bioflavonoids. Nothing you can get in a store will get the job done. And unless you are willing to eat whole buckwheat plants, alfalfa, raw bones, raw kidney, raw carrot oil, and much more, you will need to use supplements that are made from these whole foods condensed into pills and capsules.
The job will take from three to 12 months, and for the average run-of-the-mill case of cystitis, you will need to take the following products from Standard Process.. A-C Carbamide (12/day). Cataplex AC (6/day). Arginex {6/day). and Albaplex (6/day). Take these with meals in thee divided doses. If you have already had antibiotics for a current infection, add Lact-Enz (6/day) for 30 days to offset a secondary yeast infection from the antibiotics. The side effect of antibiotic-induced yeast infections certainly complicates UTI's.
In severe infectious, I often use a shock therapy of two tablets of ,all products except Lact-Enz taken every hour at the first sign of infection. You can do this for 48 hours then revert back to the normal protocol. This often will stop an infection from really taking hold, stemming the pain and burning, and shortening the duration of the infection. Often this will stop an infection in 24 hours.
During this time, it’s important to normalize digestion and to stop taking acid-stoppers.
Also drink plenty of pure water. Cranberry juice is, also OK. In the beginning, if you are prone to repeated infections, it is OK to use antibiotics along with our protocol. But infections will become less severe, and then less common over time. Eventually you will discover that you can resist an infection without a prescription for antibiotics. Once this happens you are near the end of your problems.

Medical Experts and Symptom Treatment
It is ironic that it takes years to understand something that seems so common-sense-despite the expert medical information centers. What I have always said about bugs "burrowing deeper" when exposed to antibiotics was always true. What I said about not looking so much toward the bug, but rather toward the environment (the health of the cells) was true. And what I said about antacids was also true. Antibiotics and drugs can be miraculous when you really need them. Despite well-meaning physicians it's easy to see how hundreds of thousands of prescriptions for antibiotics are given improperly each year to women. And then there are the tens of millions of antacid prescriptions for women-also an abomination! |
The very fact that women get one infection after another is living proof of my philosophies and therapies in this article. As soon as you understand you really can't fool mother nature, you will be on the road to complete recovery.
Or there are always the expert medical sites where you will be advised that you need special attention if you've been diagnosed with a urinary tract infection that repeatedly fails to respond to antibiotics, if you're plagued with continued bouts of UTI symptoms, or if you experience symptoms of a UTI but urine tests fail to reveal any bacteria.
According to modern medicine you need a uro-gynecologist, a doctor who specializes in cystitis.
There you can get antibiotics, tranquilizers, muscle relaxers, painkillers, anti-inflammatories, antihistamines. anticholinergics, or surgery. None of which will have any effect on the underlying weakness in your cell structure, address your chronic alkaline urine from antacids, or provide you with any type of permanent relief or cure. The choice is yours.
